Colorless cubic crystal, white or off-white, granular, honeycomb [block, spherical, irregular granular, powder. Non-toxic, odorless, slightly bitter taste. Relative density 2.15(25℃). Melting point 782℃. Boiling point 1600℃ above]. Very hygroscopic, easy delisting when exposed to air. Easily soluble in water, while releasing a lot of heat, its aqueous solution is slightly alkaline. Soluble in alcohol, acetic acid. CaCl28NH3 and CaCl24C2H5OH complexes were formed by the interaction with ammonia or ethanol, respectively. At low temperature, the solution crystallizates and precipitates hexahydrate, which is dissolved in its own crystalline water when gradually heated to 30℃, and gradually loses water when heated to 200℃, which becomes dihydrate, and then heated to 260℃, which becomes white porous anhydrous calcium chloride.
