Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) is an inorganic polymer coagulant. Due to its excellent water purification effect and wide range of applications, it has become an essential material in the modern water treatment industry. It is prepared through a special polymerization process and has high flocculation performance and good chemical stability.
- Chemical Formula: Typically expressed as [Al2(OH)nCl6-n]m, where n ranges from 1 to 5 and m ≤ 10.
- Appearance: Usually a yellow or brownish powder or liquid, soluble in water.
- Mechanism: Works by neutralizing electrical charges on particles, causing them to clump (flocculate) and settle, making it easier to filter or remove from water.
