Industrial Grade Granular Water Soluble Agriculture Ferrous Sulfate Heptahydrate

Ferrous sulfate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula FeSO₄. It appears as a white powder and is odorless. Its crystalline hydrate is the heptahydrate at room temperature, commonly known as "green vitriol," which is a light green crystal. It effloresces in dry air and oxidizes on the surface to form a brown basic iron sulfate in moist air.

At 56.6℃, it becomes the tetrahydrate, and at 65℃, it becomes the monohydrate. Ferrous sulfate is soluble in water and almost insoluble in ethanol. Its aqueous solution oxidizes slowly in air when cold and more rapidly when hot. The oxidation process can be accelerated by the addition of alkali or exposure to light. Its relative density (d15) is 1.897.

• Water Treatment: Used for coagulation and purification of water, and removal of phosphates from wastewater.
• Reducing Agent: Primarily used to reduce chromates in cement.
• Coloring Agent: Used in production of inks, wood staining, concrete coloring, and imparting silvery hue to maple wood.
• Agriculture: Adjusts soil pH, promotes chlorophyll formation, prevents chlorosis, and acts as pesticide for various plant diseases.
• Analytical Chemistry: Used as reagent in chromatographic analysis.
