Soda Ash
The trade name of sodium carbonate (Na2Co3), is a white, anhydrous, powdered or granular material. It is an essential raw material used in the manufacturing of glass, detergents chemicals and other industrial products.
Soda ash is made in two main grades - light and dense. These have the same chemical properties and only differ in
physical characteristics, such as bulk density and particle size and shape (which affect flow characteristics and angle of repose).

Stability
The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline.
It is easily deliqued in air, and absorbs CO2 to form sodium bicarbonate.
Use and storage according to specifications, will not occur decomposition, avoid contact with oxides.
Staff should take good protection, if accidentally touched skin and eyes, should immediately flush with plenty of running water.
Easy to dissolve in water, hygroscopic, sodium carbonate decahydrate is colorless monoclinic crystal system columnar crystal, density of 1.45g/cm3, 34 ~ 34.5℃ when dissolved in crystallized water, 40 ~ 50℃ dry into powder.
Its aqueous solution is alkaline in hydrolysis and corrosive to some extent.
It can neutralize with acid to generate corresponding salt and release carbon dioxide.
High temperature can decompose, to form sodium oxide and carbon dioxide.
Long-term exposure to the air can absorb moisture and carbon dioxide in the air to produce sodium bicarbonate, and form hard.
