What is anhydrous sodium sulfite?

Molecular weight: 126.04

Properties: This product is white crystal or powder; odorless. This product is soluble in water, very slightly soluble in ethanol.

Soluble in water (12.54g/100ml water at 0°C; 28.3g/100ml water at 80°C), the highest solubility is about 28g at 33.4°C, the aqueous solution is alkaline, and the pH value is about 9~9.5. Slightly soluble in alcohol, insoluble in liquid chlorine and ammonia.

It is easily oxidized into sodium sulfate in the air, and decomposed into sodium sulfide at high temperature.

In order to strengthen the reducing agent, it reacts with sulfur dioxide to form sodium bisulfite, and reacts with strong acid to form the corresponding salt.

1. It should be stored in a cool and dry warehouse. The packaging must be sealed and kept away from air contact to prevent moisture deterioration.

2. It is unstable in nature and should be stored airtight in a dry place below 30°C.
