Description
Sodium sulfate is the scientific name of sodium sulfate, anhydrous sodium sulfate is called sodium sulfate, and 10 molecules of water of crystallization are called mirabilite.
Sodium sulfate anhyrous is a white powder with no odor, a salty and bitter taste, and can withstand strong heat; At temperatures below 88 8 ℃, it remains solid and becomes liquid above 88 8 ℃, making it a very stable salt. It is easily soluble in water. When the solution temperature increases from 0 ℃ to 32.4 ℃, its solubility in water increases, but if the temperature continues to rise, its solubility decreases.
Applications
Used as a dye filler. When producing dyes and some additives, fillers are adjusted to standard concentrations. This type of sodium sulfate has special requirements for the content and fineness of calcium, magnesium, and iron in it, otherwise it will affect the quality of the dyes and additives.
Used as a dyeing promoter for cotton dyeing. When dyeing cotton with direct, sulfurized, reactive, insoluble azo dyes, and partial vat dyes, adding sodium sulfate can reduce the solubility of the dye in water, thereby increasing the dye uptake rate and deepening the color of the dye.
Used as a dye retarder for acidic dyes. When dyeing hair and silk with acidic dyes, if sulfuric acid or acetic acid is added alone, the dyeing speed of the acidic dye will be too fast, making it difficult for the dye to penetrate into the fiber. However, adding sodium sulfate to the colored flower can slow down the dyeing rate of the dye and have a good dyeing retarding effect.
