1. Description:
Aluminum sulfate (chemical formula: Al2 (SO4) 3) is a widely used industrial reagent that is often confused with alum. Aluminum sulfate is commonly used as a flocculant in purifying drinking water and sewage treatment equipment, as well as in the papermaking industry. Under natural conditions, aluminum sulfate hardly exists in the form of anhydrous salts. It forms a series of hydrates, among which aluminum sulfate hexahydrate is the most common. Aluminum sulfate is also a very effective mollusc insecticide that can kill Spanish slugs.
2.Applications:
Aluminum sulfate is used as an effective crosslinking agent for animal glue and can improve its viscosity. It is also used as a curing agent for urea formaldehyde adhesives, and the curing speed of 20% aqueous solution is faster. In the paper industry, it is used as the precipitator of rosin size, wax lotion and other sizing materials, as the flocculant in water treatment, as well as as the retention agent of foam fire extinguishers, raw materials for manufacturing alum and aluminum white, as well as raw materials for oil decolorization, deodorant and some drugs. It can also manufacture artificial gemstones and high-grade ammonium alum. Products with arsenic content not exceeding 5mg/kg can be used as water treatment flocculants.
Used as a paper sizing agent in the papermaking industry to enhance the water resistance and impermeability of paper;
Used as a turbid water purifier, as well as a precipitator, color fixative, filler, etc. Used as a raw material (astringent) for anti sweat cosmetics in cosmetics;
After being dissolved in water, it can cause small particles and natural colloidal particles in the water to condense into large flocs, which can be removed from the water. Therefore, it is used as a coagulant for water supply and wastewater;
In the fire protection industry, foam extinguishing agent is composed of baking soda and foaming agent;
Analytical reagent, mordant, tanning agent, oil decolorizing agent, wood preservative;
Stabilizers for albumin pasteurization (including liquid or frozen whole eggs, protein or egg yolk);
It can be used as raw material to produce artificial gemstones, high-grade ammonium alum and other aluminate;
