Description
Magnesium oxide is an oxide of magnesium, an ionic compound. It is a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in nature in the form of square magnesium stone, is the raw material of magnesium smelting. White fine powder. No smell. Due to different preparation methods, there are light and heavy quality. It is strongly refracting in the visible and near ultraviolet range. Exposed to the air, it is easy to absorb water and carbon dioxide and gradually become basic magnesium carbonate, which combines with water to form magnesium hydroxide, showing a slightly alkaline reaction.
